Proper Pasty Company, Sheffield

Since opening in August 1999, our flagship shop in Sheffields City Centre has become a landmark and a focal point in it’s locality.Serving the population of shoppers and office workers with the very best in baked off Cornish Pasties and Savouries, this shop has been responsible for the launch of many other Pasty ventures!  Situated opposite the Peace Gardens.

Sheffield has long been associated with the Steel Industry and the Mining Industry, and it wasn’t until the late 1970′s when retailing really began to develop in the City centre, as some of the major industries sadly fell into decline.  Sheffields city centre is undergoing a huge amount of re-development at the moment and the city-scape changes from one month to the next, an exciting city to be part of!

Proper Pasty Company, Leeds

Our Leeds Pasty shop was the first of our shops to reflect a change in style.  Adopting a more contemporary look and feel we really went all out to give the shop a more vibrant appearance.  We feel that we have certainly achieved this, with halo lighting to our main signage and surfing murals to the interior, making reference to that well known Cornish pastime!

Leeds is one of the UKs largest cities and Proper Pasty Company have been established here for just over a year, enjoying fantastic growth throughout this time.  We attribute our success in Leeds to great staff, great location and the great Cornish Pasty!

Proper Pasty Company, Bakewell

Our Bakewell Cornish Pasty Shop blends nicely in to the Derbyshire surroundings, a more traditional look and feel to the exterior to compliment the neighbouring buildings and businesses.  One of our smaller shops which can deliver a huge punch at lunchtime when needed…bank holidays and weekends are a challenge but we have been known to bake-off almost a thousand pasties a day on some busy summer weekends!

Bakewell is a little jewel of a town situated in the heart of Derbyshire, catering to a local population of 25,000, it’s population swells throughout Summer time due to the Ramblers and day trips to nearby Chatsworth House.  Monday in Bakewell is Market day, when traders gather, rain or shine, to peddle their wares as they have always done!

Proper Pasty Company, Sheffield (2)

We liked it so much that we had to open a second location!  Sheffield is spread across a wide geography when it comes to retailing and it was clear that to our horror the Cornish Pasty was not reaching certain parts of the City!  This spawned our second shop in a kiosk format, adopting a more contemporary style also.

This Sheffield location took us to the Western district of Sheffield, where the pasty was in demand but not in walking distance…this new shop is situated within a small indoor retail mall.

Proper Pasty Company, Newcastle

Our Leeds shop created a huge stir amongst visitors and as such we recieved a great deal of interest in additional shops and kiosks around the North of England.  Our Newcastle Pasty shop was opened in September 2008 and is situated very close to the city centre, once more in a kiosk style.  The people of Newcastle embraced the Authentic Cornish Pasty!

Only one minutes walk from the City centre, this kiosk is perfectly situated for passing trade.  Newcastles student population frequents the kiosk on a regular basis…the pasty is known to be a great cure for a hangover!
